What caused the collapse of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire? Also, what were the effects of the collapse of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire? Asked by lemmon pie - Sun Sep 2 14:02:40 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. www.roman-empire.net. has a great history on Rome & the collapse. Here is a direct quote from the site just to give you an idea. "At Constantine's death in Nicomedia in AD 337, 3 sons & 2 of his nephews were destined by the late emperor to succeed him. Though 2 of those sons were absent from Nicomedia. With the consent of the third, Constantius, the other members of the imperial family, except two young cousins were slaughtered by the soldiery. The empire was thereafter by agreement parted between the 3 sons." It goes on quite a bit and very informative. Answered by Tania's 2nd mom - Sun Sep 2 14:18:50 2007 Is my ceiling going to collapse? Q. I live in an one bedroom apartment, and noticed that my bedroom ceiling is damp. Water is dripping every minute or so, and I have a pan on my bed to hold it. I contacted security tonight, and they went up to the complex above me, but the tenants claim they don't have anything running water that would cause it. The offices are closed tomorrow, so how am I supposed to handle this? IS my ceiling about to collapse? The area is shadowed with damp water, and some of the paint is already cracking. Im quite nervous. Also, if my ceiling were to collapse and damage my things, is the landlord liable for these damages? Please anyone, what can I do? Is my ceiling in danger of collapsing before Monday? Contents insurance? Okay, but it IS my landlord's [cont.] Asked by funnyman - Sun Jun 24 04:10:42 2007 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. The landlord is responsible for repairing the problem and fixing the damage. The landlord is NOT responsible for anything that gets damaged inside. All renters should purchase "renters insurance" it is just like home owners insurance where as it covers your belongings against damage or theft. Most insurance companies carry renters insurance... So I would say move whatever is valuable -- takes ALOT for a ceiling to fall so you are probably safe for the mean time... I had the same thing in my son's room...I had a leak and we had to tarp the roof till we got it patched up -- we didn't have to replace any interior beams. Good luck!! Answered by the BOSS - Sun Jun 24 04:28:01 2007 What would happen in the event of a total global stock market collapse?
Q. Related to the above - if the markets completely collapse will banks and building societies go bust? Does this mean that any money saved in accounts not linked to stocks and shares (for example, a cash isa) will not be able to be withdrawn as people will panic and attempt to remove all their funds from a bank / building society? This sounds crazy, but if such a scenario was to happen, would it actually be wise to remove money from a bank before a collapse and store in a pilow under the bed?! Asked by Cam - Thu Mar 27 18:31:13 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You say "this sounds crazy" - actually its not all that crazy in fact it almost happened last week. The Bear Stern incident would have been the trigger to set your scenario in motion if it had not been for the Fed and their unprecedented move that delayed the melt down. If the markets did crash it would be like or worse than the great depression. People will lose their jobs money will be inaccessible due to bank closers. It'll be really bad unless you are prepared. Money as you know it may be worthless. We may go into a barter type system where people trade say a case of beer for a gallon of gas. This is of course worst case but a good example of what things could look like think back to the lawlessness of New Or lands during… [cont.] Answered by unknown - Thu Mar 27 19:06:20 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Collapse"
