Hatred (or hate) is a word that describes the intense feelings of dislike. It can be used in a wide variety of contexts, from hatred of inanimate objects (e.g. vegetables, bicycles, tables, chairs, etc.) or animals, to hatred of other people, entire groups of people, or people in general. Philosophical viewsPhilosophers have offered many influential definitions of hatred. René Descartes viewed hate as an awareness that something is bad, e.g calum, combined with an urge to withdraw from it. Baruch Spinoza defined hate as a type of pain that is due to an external cause. Aristotle viewed hate as a desire for the annihilation of an object that is incurable by time. Finally, David Hume believed that hate is an irreducible feeling that is not definable at all. Psychological viewsIn psychology, Dr. Sigmund Freud defined hate as an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness. In a more contemporary definition, the Penguin Dictionary of Psychology defines hate as a "deep, enduring, intense emotion expressing animosity, anger, and hostility towards a person, group, or object." Because hatred is believed to be long-lasting, many psychologists consider it to be more of an attitude or disposition than a (temporary) emotional state. From Wikipedia under the

Q. They made their fame, their millions, and received their rewards in this country. The would never succeed in other places but the U.S. Take, for example, that fat slob Michael Moore. He hates America and this country gave him every opportunity he could ever need. He has had so much success here and doesn't even help his country out (making movies is not helping his country; somebody else could have made the same movies). I just don't see how they could hate a country that gave them more than they needed. Not all celebrities hate America, I know that. Asked by Do-Ba You-Ba Think-Ba That-Ba? - Thu Aug 14 16:50:32 2008 - - 2 Answers - 2 Comments A. only you have said michael moore hates america; i've never heard him say that. Plus, he exposes america for what it is, warts and all. So you think you'll be president in twenty years? I doubt it if you keep calling possible voters "fat slobs". I'm wondering why you chose this section to hate on michael moore instead of the politics section, but no matter, it appears you are more hating than michael. America is supposed to stand for free speech, and apparently you believe in only allowing speech that you agree with, which is not what america is all about, so why do you hate free speech? why do you hate america? Why do you hate the troops? See how ridiculous i sound? You sound the same way. I hate my job. I have been here over 3 years. I've only gotten one raise. I have a lousy cubicle. I get yelled at by angry people all day on the phones (I work at an in-bound, not OUT-bound call center). I have been on 3 different job interviews but nothing has panned out. I'm really getting discouraged and depressed. Is anyone else in a similar situation? Asked by your_dear_old_mother - Thu Nov 15 12:38:52 2007 - - 6 Answers - 1 Comments A. I absolutly hate my job. I feel like its sucking the life out of me literally. Basically I sit behind a desk for 8 hours and take a 1 hour lunch daily. There is very little people interaction, etc, etc. I never thought my life would be like this after college, but I hope to find a new job very soon before I go crazy. I am thinking about going back to school for a completely different career area. Maybe you could look into that. Answered by Jazz - Thu Nov 15 13:31:03 2007 What role does the emotion Hate play in human evolution?
Q. Where and why did humans evolve to have hatred as an emotion. I can see the evolutionary benefits and advantages of loving, happyness, sadness, but not hate. Please do not answer this question if you are not well acquainted with human evolutionary biology or a related field. I am also not asking why people hate each other, I am asking why we experience this emotion as a species. Asked by garbage3mail - Mon May 11 12:09:43 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. competition - You will find that many mammals can be agressive to other groups of the same species so as to propogate the genetic information of those most like themselves (most likely to be related and carry similar genes) rather than those from a different place or different family.
