Fiancee Living In the United States Visa?
Q. Hello, My Fiancee is from Bangladesh, but has been living illegally in the United States for 18 years. I myself am a US citizen. She has a (Bangali) passport, but it is expired. What is the process we have to go through to get married here, and for her to become a US citizen? It turns out that her passport actually is not expired yet. Sorry for the misinformation.

A. What sort of visa are you applying for, and what did they tell you at the end of the second interview? Edit: Sounds like maybe they're considering turning it down. could be they are investigating it for the moment before they make a final decision. however, I can't be sure, and they didn't actually say no yet, obviously.

Can you renew your visa in the United States if it going to expire?
Q. My grandmothers visa expires soon and i was wondering if she could renew it here in the United States.
Asked by garcia1508@sbcglobal.net - Tue Jun 3 18:07:28 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It's possible to ask USCIS for an extension of her authorized stay here in the US. You can't actually renew your visa in the US. Visas are under the control of the Department of State and can only be renewed outside of the US. Permission to stay in the US and requests for extensions fall under USCIS. Check out uscis.gov for instructions and forms on how to requestion an extension.

Should the United States increase foreign-worker visas at this time?
Q. "Importing" foreign citizens to work for our American companies, like Microsoft, and other technical jobs as well as agricultural jobs. Is that okay to do? Should we raise the number of visas given? Why should the limit stay the same? I don't know if I'm educated enough about it to form an opinion, to be honest...
Asked by Jane Eyre - Tue Apr 28 16:52:00 2009 - - 14 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Stay the same! Jobs are given to the person whom they think is the better fit, not just because they are US citizens. This just gives our employers more people to choose from, and maybe it'll force US Citizens to work harder for those jobs, instead of just waiting around for those jobs to drop from the sky.

A. Hej Apply for a passport. There are very few countries you can go to without one. Then call the US Embassy in Sweden and ask how to get the kind of visa you need to come here. If you just want to visit for a little while, then the visa is just a stamp in your passport, very easy. If you want to move here or work here or take classes, it's a lot more complicated. The Embassy will tell you what you need to know. My wife studied in G teburg for a semester and we spent a week in Stockholm on our honeymoon. We love your country. We hope you enjoy ours. Vi ses?
