Why invisible blue ray could appear on the screen of my digital camera?
Q. When I use the digital camera, CASIO Exilim Ex-Z700, the screen was occasionally shown the blue ray. When I was in church, I could see this. When I attempted to take a photo of my nephew, I saw the line over his head. Is this correlate with digital camera or lighting? Blue ray was invisable to naked eyes, but visable to the screen view.
Asked by Yukiko N - Tue Sep 22 11:35:56 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. If it is invisible, how can you see it? Don't confuse the "Preview" screen with the actual photo. If the photos you take are clean, there might be a small problem with the LCD preview screen. If you see a blue ray in the actual picture, then there is something wrong with your camera.

What is the difference between a DVD drive with blue ray disc support and a blue ray disc player?
Q. I'm looking at computers and see a DVD RW/CD-RW with blue ray disc support. Can you play all blue ray movies on a DVD player with blue ray support? What features are not present on a DVD drive with blue ray support that might be present with a blue ray player?
Asked by btsd 1 - Sat Nov 28 16:24:13 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A player isa a box you connect to a TV set to play disks on it. Computers use drives. (A player is a drive, power supply, case and a few other components.) A computer that claims to have a disk (or any kind - CD, DVD or BR) player is just an ad written by a computer illiterate person. Computers have drives, not players. The features question is moot, since whatever the differences, you can't use a player on a computer. (The differences are that a player has video output and probably TV output [channel 3/channel4 in North America].)

How can burn blue ray movies without a blue ray drive?
Q. Is there a way to burn blue ray without having the drive? Is there I way to play them without a drive such mounting an ISO file?

A. You can play it on your computer via mounting it with a program like Alcohol 120%. I suggest getting VLC player as it supports a wide range of video types. I don't think you can burn a blu ray disc without a blu ray drive though.

How to make Blue ray player wireless to access Netflix?
Q. I got a blue ray player but the thing is the only way to connect to the internet is to directly connect it to a router the thing is my router is no where near my Blue ray player so how i do i work this little situation out? Is there any special adapter you can connect to the back? Like a gaming adapter?

A. First of all Netflix does not yet support the Playstation 3, but however does support streaming movies for the Xbox 360. Until Netflix does support PS3 and additional software comes out for Playstation 3 there is no way you will be able watch streaming movies from Netflix on your Playstation 3. The Playstation 3 does have a built in Wi-Fi so you don't have to connect a ethernet wire from your router to your Playstation 3 to access the internet. If the distance is to far (from your router), I suggest getting a better router. There are routers that have a very far distance Wi-Fi that your Playstation 3 can access the internet throughout the entire house. When your purchase a router, look for the standard 802.11-N at any electronic store… [cont.]

How do I play blue ray videos on my Play Station 3?
Q. I just went to blockbuster to rent some blue ray movies. I bought them blue ray because I heard that Play Station 3s play blue ray movies. However, when I inserted the DVD into my PS3, it didn't work. Do I have to change the settings or something? How do I get it to play?
Asked by Marlenny - Sun Jun 14 20:58:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. All PS3's are indeed able to play blu-ray disc movies. The only reason as to why you may not be able to watch a certain movie is that you may have not updated the PS3 to its latest firmware. If you havent this will indeed be the culprit as to why you are unable to watch those movies. check to see what update you currently have, this will be a help in determining the issue at hand.

What is the deal with blue ray dvd players?
Q. My friend just bought a playstation 3 and new huge hdtv. I have seen blue ray players in the upwards of $2, 000. Why would I spend that kind of money when I can simply buy a ps3? I want to know the difference between ps3 blue ray players and the super expensive ones. To me it sound the same as dvd players, and for the most part it is hard to find one that is better than the other. What do you think?
Asked by Danimal - Thu Dec 11 01:36:29 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well...you can buy a Blu-Ray player for $299-$399 range...NOT over $2,000. With that in mind a PS3 is running around $399 with 80GB. So it is very close in price. It is just a matter of personal preference. Are you a gamer? Are you a young professional? Are you married? Do you want a PS3 in your living room entertainment center? These are some of the reasons for choosing a PS3 or a Blu-Ray player. If you are just watching movies then you should go with the Blu-Ray.

What do you really think out Blue Ray Disc Players and are they better than the standard DVD?
Q. I am planning on buying either a DVD player or buying a Blue Ray disc player, but i heard that to get a fast loading system I will need to shell out a lot of money, and the less expensive systems are much slower. Is this true? And what does everyone think about them?

A. Wow, I can't believe you don't have a dvd player yet. You are more than 10 years behind the technology curve. Here's the scoop... DVD technology came out in the mid 90's and was a direct replacement for the VHS (VCR tapes) format. DVD is now mainstream and VHS is obsolete. The picture quality in DVD is much better VHS, of course. Enter Blu-Ray - the new format that is destined to replace the DVD format. Of course, being the newer format, the quality is much better than DVD. The catch is... if you don't have one of the newer HDTV set, your old, non-HDTV will not be able to take advantage of the video quality offered by Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray is also very expensive at the moment (because it's relatively new) and there aren't alot of movies… [cont.]

Can i hook up hdmi to blue ray then component cables to tv?
Q. I have a Mitsubishi HD1080 series tv. A Vizio blue ray dvd player. If i get a HD cable box from Comcast; the hd box will plug into wall through coaxle. Then use HDMI cable to hook up comcast hd box to the blue ray player. Then use component cables to connect blue ray player to my tv. Will that work to get high definition? The reason for component cables is because my tv does not have HDMI.

A. TV Guy is correct, and so is Installing Flats, but he needs to learn to read before he comments. What TV Guy said is that only hdmi can support a 1080p signal, which is true. What Installing Flats incorrectly read was that HDMI can ONLY support a 1080p signal, which is not true. HDMI can carry any signal, up to and including 1080p as well as audio. Once you get past his reading comprehension issues, Installing Flats is correct. There is some talk of starting to broadcast in 1080p, but it is not yet common practice. The main source of 1080p content right now is blu-ray. Now to answer your actual question, the best way to hook up your current equipment without a receiver, is to go directly from both your HD cable box and blu-ray… [cont.]

A. blu ray is not worth it. it is still very expensive (299$ for a decent player) the best thing to do is wait for a price drop, as well as upgrades and more widespread use, since the only blu ray disks available are new releases for the most part. just wait on it. remember when dvd players were 150 dollars? now you can get a decent one for 20.

Are blue Ray Burners really worth the money?
Q. I know they have software that can now bypass the Blue Ray protection, but is it really worth the effort and trouble. Blue Ray recorders are coming down, I seen them as low as $500. The Blue Ray media is so damn expensive. I seen single disc go for $15-$25 for one disc. I seen a 50 pack go for $560. It doesn't sound like it would be to profitable to burn Blue Ray movies, just seeing how expensive they are. For a few more bucks you can own the actuall DVD. What do you guys think.

Is there a big difference in buying a blue-ray copy for an animated film rather than a dvd?
Q. I know blue-ray offers 5.1 surround sound and better picture quality, but is it worth to spend an extra 5-10 bucks to purchase the blue ray copy of those animated films rather than the normal DVD?
Asked by Fortis - Sat Sep 6 14:56:34 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The only big advantage to blu-ray over DVD is mostly sound, and that only matters if your sound system can take advantage of it. Otherwise, don't bother. The HD of blu-ray only matters if you have a large screen HDTV because the naked eye can't discern the difference between the amount of pixels for blu-ray as opposed to DVD in a smaller screen.

Will a blue ray player work with a standard definition tv? Are there any problems with doing that?
Q. I was asked if i would like to get a Blue Ray player for christmas and then in a couple of months I would buy a tv. But in the mean time I would hook it up to my standard def tv. Would the picture still be on the screen since my tv is not widescreen. Would i notice a difference between my regualar dvd player and a blue ray on the standard def tv.

A. It will work as long as your TV has the right type of input. Yes, the picture will fit the width of your TV but you may have a black band at the top and bottom of the screen. No, unfortunately there won't be any enhanced picture quality on a standard TV.

Do you get the full effect from blue ray discs on standard tvs?
Q. I was thinking about buying a blue ray disc player but I still only have a standard tv and I was wondering if it still looks as good on a standard tv. Does it matter what type of tv it is?
Asked by No Name - Fri Nov 2 21:57:53 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Heck yes. A standard TV can only display standard def video. The same one they created in 1940. There will be no benefit to using a up-converting player, BlueRay , or HD-DVD. You need a HDTV to see the 3-5 times improved video. If you have decided on BluRay - consider getting a PS3. It's not that much more money, you get a game system, and the PS3 is actually the best BluRay player available. All the magazines compare stand-alone players to the PS3 and none have matched it for speed and quality. (Those 3 Cell processors in the box make all the difference). With this - you will have a game system, a DVD player, and are ready when you get the HDTV in the future.

What are some of the common causes of PS3 hardware failure particularly the Blue Ray player?
Q. The PS3 has a very low failure rate, however some of the systems do fail. What are some of the common problems or issues with PS3 hardware? Is there a problem with PS3 Blue Ray hardware? Some reviews I've read have mentioned it's common for the PS3 Blu Ray to fail. Is this true? What generally causes PS3 hardware to fail, defect or improper use? I would like to know if the PS3 has durability issues, before I purchase one. What really are the common hardware issues with the PS3?
Asked by Thomas P. - Tue Mar 31 10:36:10 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Mostly because... Switched off inappropriately. Dust. Turning off the PS3 when installing data. Overheat. And some of them are just unlucky. Blu-Ray failure isn't the most common hardware failure but it does happen because it's overused, not enough time to rest and playing games that are dirty.
