The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) is a program of the United States Government which allows citizens of specific countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for up to 90 days without having to obtain a visa. The program applies to the 50 U.S. states as well as the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, with limited application to other U.S. territories. All countries selected by the U.S. government to be in the program are high-income economies with a high Human Development Index and are regarded as developed countries. From Google News Search: "visa waiver program" Can I use the US Visa Waiver Program if I live here? Q. I lost my E3 visa. I will get it reissued in a few months. In the meantime, I would like to leave the country then re-enter on the 90 day visa waiver program (which I have used countless times). However I have an apartment and other ties to the US. I do intend to depart in <90 days to get my new E3 but is there any risk they will deny entry on the basis that I intend to stay longer? Asked by Mark H - Wed Nov 7 11:11:10 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. There is always a risk that you will be denied entry but even more so in your case. If it is possible, I would suggest bringing with you some form of evidence indicating that you have to return home within the 90 period to obtain your new visa. Although this won't guarantee you entry (nothing ever does) it will give you a better chance to support your case at your POE. Q. I would like to visit Oz for just a week or so, but do not want to go through the visa system. Asked by ColTheGooner - Thu Apr 26 08:10:12 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. You just need something called an "ETA" - an Electronic Travel Authority which you can apply for online. It costs AU$20. Just make sure you apply for it before you arrive, that's all you need to do and your details will be on the Australian governments system when you present your passport at immigration.
